Pain & Injuries
Within traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine are very effective for a wide range of conditions, including pain and injuries. In the West, acupuncture for pain relief and injuries has become very well-known with an increasing number of clinical trials concluding on its effectiveness.
TCM may not only be effective for musculo-skeletal pain, but it may help with various other forms of pain. Below is not an exhaustive list, however it does cover the most common pain conditions and injuries that may be improved with acupuncture and other TCM therapies.
As with most conditions, but particularly for pain, injuries, and rehabilitation, it is vital that the patient (and if relevant, the patient’s family) actively work with the practitioner and engage fully with their recovery and pain management. There may be lifestyle and exercise advice that are part of the treatment plan and it is by working in partnership with all parties that positive outcomes are most likely to occur. And ultimately, the most profound improvements in quality of life may be attained.
